The word “yun” in Chinese is a pun for “good fortune”.

Auspicious in nature, clouds are used as a pun for “fortune” especially “good fortune”. Rainbow coloured clouds are often depicted in the shape of a wish-granting sacred focus. Clouds produce much-needed rain for the crops of China. Because they dwell in the sky, they stand for a high rank (Bartholomew, 2006).
